Pronto and Hitachi Construction Machinery Enter Strategic Partnership to Advance Open Mine Automation Solutions
July 16, 2026

SAN FRANCISCO and TOKYO — Pronto, the autonomous haulage systems (AHS) provider for off-road mining and quarrying, today announced a strategic partnership with Hitachi Construction Machinery to advance open mine automation solutions for the global mining industry.
The partnership pairs Pronto's OEM-agnostic, vision-first AHS with Hitachi's fleet of rigid dump trucks, giving mine operators a faster path to autonomy without being locked into a single equipment manufacturer.
"Open automation is the only path that scales across the diversity of fleets already on the ground at active mine sites," said Anthony Levandowski, CEO and co-founder of Pronto. "Hitachi shares that view, and this partnership lets us bring autonomy to operators who would otherwise wait years for a single-OEM solution."
The companies will begin joint field validation at active mine sites in North America and Asia-Pacific in the coming quarters, with commercial availability to follow.
